One of the ever increasing joys of embracing technology is the break neck pace of innovation is often hard to stay abreast of. As soon as we learn something new it already seems outdates. But as a wise person once said, "If we don't like change we will like irrelevance even less". Below are some new twists on old (relatively speaking) tools that have potential impacts on education.
Google Wave
The newest from Google in beta form is Google Wave. Wave allows a collaborative real-time space for multiple users to share documents, communicate via chat, and build digital products together. Think of it as gmail and google docs combined together. The video below helps explain the essence of Google Wave. I'd predict within a couple of years a good number of organizations will be planning events / projects online collaboratively using these tools.
Self Record on YouTube with One Stop
The rise of the information age has made self-publishing in terms of video extremely easy and prevalent. Anyone can create a free youtube account to share their original video work. Youtube has now made it easier to record by allowing a feature where you can record directly from your own webcam (built in on the mac) directly to youtube without using video editing software like imovie or moviemaker on windows. This saves time. You can easily post test-reviews, homework instructions, or other items directly to class webpages. You can easily remove or delete videos from youtube when they are no longer needed.

This is all exciting and overwhelming. I guess one needs to choose a few new ones that best suit the needs of his or her classroom on which to focus.
